Scrapbooking Challenge

Today over at Stampin Royalty we have a scrapbooking challenge for you to try. Here is the digital scrapbook pages I have made for this challenge. I am working on Project Life again this year, but this particular week I had no photos what se ever of the week. I have vowed, that I am never doing that again. So I came up with some of my favourite photos of my boys and what they do to make then who they are. Quite happy with the results in the end.

Happy Easter Everybunny

Your Special Day

The challenge over at stampin royalty this week is a sketch challenge. I'm pretty sure I have told you by now, how much I love sketch challenges. Here is my card for this week. I used my new stamp set Peaceful Petals, which is available on my store and coloured in using my copic markers.

The colours I used on this card are Wisteria Wonder and Pear Pizzazz with a little bit of Elegant Eggplant, card stock and matching designer papers.

Planes, Trains and Automobiles

How amazingly cute is this little fellow. Absolutely gorgeous, and fun to colour too.

I have a lot of paper stacks everywhere in my craft room, so I have decided that I really should try and use some of them up on the cards, and this paper here seemed to fit perfectly with this little image. I can not believe I did that.

I can not believe, I have had this card ready to be scheduled, and I forgot. This card was supposed to be for a colour challenge over at Stampin Royalty. So, here is my card. It posted on the team page, but didn't quite make it to my blog. Very busy week. I will do better next week, I hope, anyway.

Birthday Challenge

Here is my take on the Birthday Challenge over at www.arandomfandt.blogspot.com this week. This digital stamp reminded me of France, so I coloured her, what I thought were appropriate colours for a little French birthday. Luckily, I know some people in France, so this little card may find itself on the other side of the world in a few months. I am sure I have, but have I told you how much in love I am with Sherry's digital stamps. Amazing. Pop on over to the DT blog and have a look at some amazing cards by the other Design Team members. Bee-Happy

Over at A Random Fan this week, we have a new section of challenges, made just for you Sketch lovers. I, know that I will be using this amazing sketch again. I love it. So gather your Random digital stamps, your card making supplies and come and have a play. You will not regret it.

All that Glitters

All that glitters - Gold is our theme for this week over at Stampin Royalty.

It is pretty simple really. Create a project using something gold.

For my card, I found some gold card stock from Stampin Up, that I had neatly stored away so I thought that I would make a birthday card, paper piecing a balloon and using my star punch to punch out some gold stars. I then paper pierced around the outer edges and used my gold gel pen to create the faux stitching. All in all, I am pretty happy with the way it came together.

My First Spotlight Card

Faux Stitching Technique

As it is my turn to be the Spotlight Designer this week over at 

www.arandomfandt.blogspot.com. 

I have decided to share one of my favourite techniques called Faux Stitching. Although this is not a NEW technique, it is one that I fall back on a lot. If things get a little confusing, I have inserted the link to Splitcoast Stampers, where I first learnt this technique.

Paper piercing pad or mousepad

Paper piercing template or Plastic Ruler

Paper piercing tool or Darning Needle works just as well

Marker or gel pens

Cardstock

Step-by-Step

Step 1

Place cardstock piece on top of the paper piercing pad.

Next, place the clear paper piercing template over the cardstock piece to be stitched.Use the paper piercing tool to poke holes in cardstock, using the piercing template or ruler as a guide.

Step 2

Use a marker or gel pen to connect the pierced holes in your cardstock. This will form stitch marks. Make sure to pause at each hole so the hole is highlighted with marker. This helps to form a more realistic stitched look.

Hello There

I made this card for the challenge over at Stampin Royalty this week. I shuddered when I saw that this challenge was a 'Clean and Simple' type of project. So while I was out watering my garden, I thought that I could use my washi tape. (Never opened). And, yes, there you have it, my very first clean and simple card that I actually like. Oh, and the best thing about this card, is it took longer to print out the image, than it did to make the whole card. I think I may make a few more of these and have then ready for those occasions when you just want to send a card because, you can.

Bedtime Stories - Sketch Challenge

Over at www.arandomfandt.blogspot.com we have a little sketch challenge for you to try. I must admit, following a sketch makes card making so much easier for me, as I tend to move things around a lot, before sticking them down. Although, I have been known to pull cards apart after I have stuck them down to move things around. For this challenge I have used A Random Fan digital stamp called Bedtime Stories. She is so cute. I have used some colours that I do not usual use when it comes to card making. I thought I would venture outside the square a little.

For this card, I went to My Design Studio from Stampin Up to find the stamps I was looking for. I printed the stamps in the colours (re sizing) below to match the theme at Stampin Royalty this week. I think that this stamp set is called "on the go?"

Floral Congratulations

For Stampin Royalty this week we have another picture inspiration for you. From this picture I decided that more flowers and doilies were in order. I think my card is based on the small picture of the dining setting on the bottom right hand corner. Basically everything that I have used for this card has been discontinued, but having said that, you can substitute the colours if you want.
