Awesomeness

Wow, it has been so long since I have participated in a challenge. And, when I say a long time, I'm talking months and months.

I saw this sketch this morning from the paper players and decided that I would make a card using the new Flower Patch stamp set from Stampin Up.

The colours I have used are - Marina Mist, Pink Pirouette, Melon Mambo, So Saffron, Pumpkin Pie, Pistachio Pudding and Old Olive. Along with Whisper white and a few scattered pearls.

Love Love Love

This week at Stampin Royalty we have a (love) challenge for you to try. Here is my card for the challenge, luckily for me one of my star pupils sent me some instructions on how to make this amazing rose for the front. Thank you Shirley.

I used Strawberry Slush card stock and Designer Paper for my card and made the flower using my 5 petal punch. The sentiment is from the Sale-A-Bration set called See Ya Later from Stampin Up. The leaves and doily are an old die I had kicking around my craft room.

Great Uses for Scraps

At Stampin Royalty this week we have a little challenge the uses scraps. I have a tendency to use my scraps and turn them into backgrounds like this card here. The blocked background is made from using scrap paper that I have kept. The stamp set is called Stippled Rose, and although retired a few years ago, it is one of my all time favourites. Click on the link below and have a look at how the rest of the design team uses their scraps.

Heartfelt Birthday Wishes

This stamp set is quickly becoming one of my favourites at the moment. I made this card using the above colours from the Dynamic Duos colour challenge which includes Pumpkin Pie and Wild Wasabi. Awesome colours together, but without this challenge, I probably would not have put them together. The stamp set is Pedal Presents, the sentiment came from Fabulous Phrases and the colouring was done using copic markers. So that is about all I can say about this card, other than I will be using it as a class card in the near future.

SU Birthday Challenge

Here is a female birthday card I made last weekend and finished off this morning. I saw a card on Mary Fish (stampin Pretty) blog with the same fold, so I thought I would give it a go as well.

Supplies Used:
Whisper white and Pretty in Pink card
Pretty in Pink Designer Paper
Pretty in Pink Ribbon (Satin) and buttons
Sizzix top note die and small leaves
Small dots embossing folder
Heat Gun and White Embossing Powder
Vellum
Pretty in Pink and Rose Red Marker

So a brief run down on how I made this: The little secret I have learned here is to emboss on the vellum, then turn the vellum over and colour on the back side of the rose. Add a few little shadows here and there, and hey presto. Done.

BLOG UPDATE: Check this out. Thank You SUO.

Fifth Avenue Floral 2

Here is the second card we are making for our Fifth Avenue Floral Class.
Here they are all together. Sorry for not blogging these earlier girls, but had to fight my 18 year old to get the computer off him. lol. I should have sent him off driving somewhere.

So for all the girls that have attended my classes all year, have a safe

MERRY CHRISTMAS
&
HAPPY NEW YEAR

See you all back in 2012.

Fifth Avenue Floral

This is the last card we, as a class, are making for 2011. I thought we would end the year with a bang, a little bit of water colouring, a bit of cutting and a bit of die cutting. They are going to love me for this. lol. I have not used these colours before, so I thought I would give them a go. The colours we are using are:

Calypso Coral
Lucky Limeade
Crumb Cake

I really wish that Blogger would give you more colour options :)
Below is a close up of the water colouring. Pretty Cool, if I do say so myself.

Happy Mothers Day

I thought I had better start posting some cards for the month of May. Apart from being away on Holidays, and having Easter, My Birthday and Mothers Day, life has been pretty hectic. Something had to give. Although I am back now and ready to go. Here is the card I made for my Mother-in-law for Mothers Day. I used the Elements of style stamp set, Pretty in Pink, Rose Red and Marina Mist card stock and everything else Stampin Up.

These cards here are made from a tutorial written by 'Demo to Demo', you can find the link on the left hand side of my blog. The tutorial has a card holder in it as well, but I just wanted to get the cards done for now.

Stipple Rose

I made these cards a while ago now, using the Stipple Rose stamp set and en francis background stamp. The card stock I used was mellow moss, pale plum and perfect plum. Not to mention or course, whisper white.

I used the spellbinders dies to create the oval scallop, I also used the SU scallop edge punch. I used the co-ordinating marker pens to colour the image.
